Preservative Efficacy Test

(also called a PET or Challenge Test)

By adding micro-organisms to your product and monitoring their reduction in numbers we can determine the effectiveness of your preservative system.

Most frequently we perform the test of the European Pharmacopoeia.  We also have tests specifically modified for use with wet wipes.   All of these involve the inoculation of products with

Staphylococcus aureus

Pseudomonas aeruginosa

Aspergillus brasiliensis

Candida albicans

Additionally we routinely inoculate with environmental isolates.
